Next Renewal Deadline: April 1, 2026
Nebraska veterinary licenses renew every two years.

Licensing Cycle: Nebraska veterinary licenses must be renewed every two years. The current cycle ends on April 1, 2026, and the next cycle will run from April 2, 2026 to April 1, 2028.

Don’t wait until the last minute to renew. The Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services recommends completing your renewal early. Same-day license processing is NOT available.

32 hours required every 2 years
All 32 hours allowed via live (interactive) online CE
Maximum 8 hours via self-study (non-interactive) online CE
At least 24 hours in veterinary medicine & surgery
No more than 8 hours in practice management
3 hours on opiates for those prescribing controlled substances
- ⏱️ Includes 0.5 hours on Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP)
